Since I've been on the topic of Christianity and redistribution of wealth, I'd like to share this quote from R. C. Sproul, from one of sessions on our Alaskan cruise in June:

The first thing Christians should do to improve the government situation is to stop using the government to fill their own pockets.  Stop stealing with their votes.  Stop voting largesse to themselves by asking the government to redistribute the wealth that other people have and vote for people who promise that they will take taxes from this man and give it to you.  When we stop that, and the government begins to see that redistribution of wealth doesn't work as a political gimmick, that will be the biggest thing we can do to change the direction of this economy of total fiscal irresponsibility.  I think ministers should offer prophetic criticism just as through the history of the Bible.  Prophets of the Old Testament and John the Baptist in the New [Testament] spoke against the evil practices of government.  It is our mandate to speak against sin in high places.
